Meet Our Summer Intern Courtney!


Courtney Gear

New to the Quincy area, Courtney gets her energy and inspiration from exploring the environment around her. She enjoys art, theater and music, but is also learning more about the sports world. Some of her hobbies include swimming, walks or bike rides, movies and video games. As a communications major, Courtney loves conversations and can find something to talk about with just about anyone.

Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, Courtney Gear is the third of five children. She graduated Xavier High School in 2012 and continued with college at Quincy University. There she is working complete her degree in Communications with a double focus in Broadcasting and Public Relations and a minor in Advertising Production.

Courtney is a member of the honorary communications fraternity Lambda Pi Eta and the honorary music fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi. She is also involved with the music department and enjoys playing percussion in the Hawks Marching Band and Symphonic Band. She has been one of the anchors for the Quincy University campus news QUTV since January.

Courtney will graduate in December and plans to continue on to graduate school to get her Master’s degree in communications. She is very excited to be working with the Quincy Art Center and learning Marketing and Public Relations skills. Courtney also considers herself an amateur artist and hopes to learn more about art through her experience at the Art Center.
